This has got to be quick.
I've been AWOL, but I haven't had internet service. My mother-in-law has wifi but no idea what her password is. The greater Grand Rapids area is apparently totally ambivalent about the internet.
Most restaurants don't have wifi.
Three times I've gone into a restaurant, asked if they have wifi, and received a shrug.
What, you don't know?
Last night I was told yes, ordered my food, and found out the wifi didn't work.
"Yeah, we have a lot of trouble with it."
So, my lack of posts is not for lack of desire.
I'm sitting in a coffee shop where the wifi cut out after 15 minutes. I thought it might just be me, so I asked another patron who was sitting at a laptop if she had a connection. "No. That happens here all the time."
AARGH!
I appealed to the barista and she rebooted it. We'll see how long it lasts.
I went to Celebration this morning and it's always good to be back in the church I pastored for six years. Surprisingly, some of them have aged. But we pick up where we left off.
Today we've seen snow, sun, wind, and a high (!) of 25 degrees.
Why do people live here?
It's a good thing I didn't get deeply involved in this year's tourney. My MIL isn't a big sports fan. Her TV diet consists mostly of decade-old reruns of CSI and Law & Order.
I think when I get back I'll list the VW on eBay. I can set my reserve so I don't give it away. See what happens. So far I've only listed it on the VW forum, and I'm getting lots of hits but no messages.
I have a TON of stuff in my head but no time to write it now. And who knows how long before this connection disappears. I may write tomorrow during airport time if it's free. Otherwise, I'll be back Tuesday.
