You're welcome.
The good news: it's worth $30,000 more than it was at the bottom of the crash three years ago.
Note: all of this according to Zillow, a rough estimate at best.
At least according to them our house is worth more than we owe.
For no particular reason I decided to take surface streets to church this morning. I passed a guy stuck in the left turn lane at a light with a stalled car. He was driving - more accurately, not driving - a late model Ford Focus. Flashers on, he got out to lift the hood. Why?? He'll stare at the overstuffed engine compartment, not be able to identify a single piece of that mechanical mass, realize he has no hope of doing anything, and shut the hood.
Save the time and humiliation; get out your cell phone and call your road service provider for a tow. If you don't have one, fix that at your first opportunity. Gone are the days when anyone can solve a stalled car problem unless it's out of gas, and in that case nothing under the hood is relevant.
This is one more reason I prefer old cars. My litmus test: when I open the hood I should be able to see the ground. If I can't, there's too much stuff in there.
In our adult class we're working on the various kinds of material in the Gospels, having thus far covered the pericope and, the last two classes, the parable. This morning they broke up into four groups, each assigned a parable to analyze. One of them had Luke 12:16-21, the parable of the rich fool who had so much stuff he built bigger warehouses to hold it all, saying to himself, "You have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, and be merry."
But God said to him, "Fool, This very night your soul is required of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?"
On the news tonight the death of Lewis Katz and six others on a private jet that crashed shortly after takeoff. This comes four days after he and a partner put together an $88 million deal to buy the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The D'backs are really bad. Only the Cubs have a worse record, and the D'backs have a run differential of -65, forty seven runs worse than the Cubs.
It's a long, long time until football starts.
This morning was hard work. This evening I'm feeling it.
Supper, Elementary, and bed.
