"The most effective way to do it, is to do it." - Amelia Earhardt
Maria Sharapova has a weak, balky serve and double faults more than any other top 20 woman in tennis. Her forehand is huge but her backhand is average. No one, however, is stronger mentally. Her focus is incredible and does not waver no matter how the match is going. She can lose two consecutive points to double faults and not show the slightest mental hesitation or weakness on the third. Beat her 6-0 in the first set? She doesn't show any effect in her body language or game, so don't you dare relax. She'll play with the same intensity and is likely to win the second by the same margin.
I think I'll always pull for Maria in any match just out of respect for that strength.
She won the French Open.
Both the Falcon ('65) and the truck ('59) have pull knobs that open vents under the dash for letting in outside air. These, I've learned, are affectionately known as "crotch coolers." Which leads me to wonder, when did cars first have vents in the dash? Now they're universal, but it wasn't always so; neither the wagon nor the truck have them. So what carmaker, and what year, first featured in-dash vents?
As of about 8:00 this morning all of the truck parts except the cab have their body work done. I'll give each of them a very thorough going-over to catch any spots that need more sanding or - I'm sure hoping not - another layer of body filler and sanding.
Tomorrow evening the kids are coming to help me get the cab off the trailer and back onto the dolly so I can begin grinding the welds and doing the body work on it. Then everything gets cleaned with a special degreaser, the garage gets vacuumed and mopped, followed by a layer of painter's masking paper on the floor, and it will be time to start spraying. Maybe the end of next week if the cab work goes smoothly.
Geico commercials are among the worst on television. I would strangle that annoying animated gecko if I could get my hands around his scrawny throat. I consider it blasphemy that they've included Rocky & Bullwinkle for their latest ad, profaning two of Saturday morning's greats.
After three hours of working on the truck, a passle of household chores, a couple of hours spent going over tomorrow's work, and another load of laundry I'm beat. My goal is to stay awake until 8:30 but with two hours to go it's not looking so good.
Maybe some coffee.

I trust you'll be sealing your garage off from the outside. I'd hate to see a Haboob drive grit and sand into the garage and compromise (ruin) a great paint job.
Sealing off the garage would mean death-by-fumes. Good ventilation is essential. So I'll paint with the garage door up early in the day when the air is still and temps down. Especially with these early layers small particles of dust aren't critical. Even with color and clear, particles are expected. That's what "cut & buff" is about.
