"Life expectancy would grow by leaps and bounds if green vegetables smelled as good as bacon." - Doug Larson
I'm sitting in my chair right now.
I was sitting here three hours ago making the slides for Sunday's lesson when I noticed a drop of blood on my shirt. I went in to the bathroom to deal with it, looked in the mirror, and discovered the front of my shirt was covered in blood and more was dripping off my chin.
Pam came home from work to drive me to the dr. while I held a series of paper towels to my cheek.
He cleaned things up, cauterized the site, and put on a compression dressing. The entire right side of my face is now one big white lump.
I go to the plastic surgeon tomorrow afternoon so he can plan his work. But that work will only be done after the tissue from the surgery comes back (Monday?) showing the margins are clear. In the meantime I'm not supposed to do anything that raises my heart rate. Specifically, no preaching or teaching Sunday. (If you know me you know my heart rate rises when I'm doing my thing.)
Drat!
Friend John Bates took this pic of my parents last Sunday. My older brother Scott was still in town and took them to church. (They don't otherwise go because people in their 90's mostly stay home...as they should.) It was the 50th anniversary of the church's founding and lots of people from back in the day were there for the occasion.
Anyway, this is a great picture of my folks and it makes me wish I could see them every day instead of every few months.
I programmed the machine to record Sherlock on CBS while I was in Seattle. We watched it tonight. I didn't realize how much I already miss all the political ads that played in every break (sarcasm). But it's fun to see them in light of yesterday's outcomes.
I can't preach, I can't work on the truck, I can't go to the gym, and going to Starbucks with half my face covered by a massive bandage seems inappropriate this side of Halloween. What am I going to do with myself?

If you have Photoshop you could spend your time removing the background of that wonderful picture of your parents in preparation for framing. Sorry about your face and about your restrictions.
I like your suggestion! I have Photoshop Elements, their bare bones version, but it should do OK. Wish I had your eye for that kind of thing.
