"Expert: someone who makes three correct guesses consecutively." - Laurence J. Peter

This evening there is light at the end of the tunnel and recovery is on the horizon. Still no energy, and the cold symptoms persist, but the fever is gone and with it most of the aches.

Today I replaced the oil pressure switch and I'm 99% sure that will fix the problem. I ran the engine for several minutes with no oil pressure showing on the gauge, and that should have resulted in a lot of knocking and clattering from under the hood. Nada. That all but guaranteed it was a false reading. And the hollow portion of the pressure switch plug was filled with oil and grease which certainly could cause that.
I'll know more in a day or two.

I normally leave the garage door open during the day, especially when it's this warm, but I decided today I need to keep it closed unless I'm out there working. The list of old men who want to stop in and talk about the Chevy project has grown so that at least twice a day I get a knock on the door to the garage. Being courteous usually means 15-20 minutes lost to whatever project I'm working on. Today it was sermon prep and lunch.

The latest example of brutality from ISIS has increased the unity among Arab countries in opposition to that movement. Two things occur to me.
Where is the U.N.? I don't remember hearing anything from that august body about the evil of ISIS or what must be done to end it. Why?
President Obama has insisted we will send no ground troops, but I wonder if we're anywhere close to maximizing the effects of arial attacks? They can't be that hard to find. And our efforts could, especially now, bring a lot of goodwill in a part of the world where we certainly need it.

The Republican party drives me crazy!
Jeb Bush makes perfectly reasonable statements about the immigration problem and the right wing goes ballistic over his heresy. It sometimes seems like the Tea Party and it's ilk think the only measure of orthodoxy is to have no one to your right, and that agreeing with moderates or (gasp) Democrats on anything is tantamount to a sellout.
The party stands no chance of winning the White House if the primaries are again dominated by candidates to the right of right who pander to their constituent's worst fears.
Aargh.
