"I buy expensive suits. They just look cheap on me." - Warren Buffet

At least here in the Phoenix metro area the women who are part of the local morning shows on TV are all young and telegenic. Most of them dress in ... I don't know how to describe it. More stylish than business attire and often very - ahem - form fitting. At any point in time one or more of these women are also pregnant.
Am I too old fashioned? 'cause a tight knit dress at 7 months strikes me as not a good look.
But I also want to unsee all the images moms-to-be post on Facebook of their bare bellies. Why do they think I want to see that?

While doing sermon prep this morning (Eph. 6) I came across a new word: tow. In this case it means short fibers of flax or wool.
I also learned there's a whole world of guys who are into reenacting Roman battles, complete with all the attire. I knew about Civil War junkies, just never thought there'd be a parallel for wars from two millennia back.

This morning I sat at Starbucks doing the aforementioned sermon prep with my ear buds feeding me Pandora to block out the senior citizens SHOUTING at each other. I use several sites as resources (Blue Letter Bible, Bible Gateway, Greek NT, etc.) and at one point none of them would load. Turns out I'd lost my internet connection.
So how come Pandora was still streaming?

I've had two guys ask if I'm interested in selling the Dodge. Both were landscape guys cruising the neighborhood looking for work. I think next time I should throw out a price just to see what happens, like double what I've got in it. Hey, what's to lose? I never thought I'd get that much for the Falcon.

I'm not very good at spraying clear coat.
OK, I'm pretty bad at it.
I don't know what the trick is to getting a smooth finish but I get a lot of what's aptly called orange peel. Today I spent an hour wet sanding the hood I sprayed last Saturday and got a swath about 6" wide and the length of the hood done. With 1000 grit.
Next comes 1200, then 1500, then 2000, then 2500. After that I do two different degrees of buffing compound.
This first sanding is taking longer than any of the others will because I have to cut through all the orange peel, but this is not going to be done anytime soon. I will work patiently and thoroughly, though. I'll be staring out at that hood every time I'm behind the wheel and I don't want to be irritated by what I see.

Pam and I are going to the Arabian Horse Show in Scottsdale on Friday. It's a 10-day event and the biggest Arabian show in the country. Competitors come from all over the world, including sheiks from the Middle East. Hope to get some good pics.

The President refuses to use the term "Islamic extremists" for reasons I still can't figure out.
A guy with a rep for being the neighborhood jerk shoots three people over a parking spot, and because they happened to be Muslims many of their family and friends insist it was a hate crime.
ISIS continues to do the unthinkable and boast about it, this time killing Coptic Christians because of their faith.
There's a common thread here, but don't expect to hear about it on the news.

Pam's dog snores. Loudly.
Pam does sometimes, too, but she wouldn't want me to say that.
