"I love to go to the playground and watch the children jumping up and down. They don't know I'm firing blanks." - Emo Philips
I'm still not back to normal energy levels so I putzed at 60% today, working on a variety of projects, most truck-related. I have to connect the choke cable but the rest of the carb is all done, including a throttle linkage that took way more time and energy that it should have.
I think the engine compartment is pretty much done until the wiring harness shows up sometime in the next few days. So after I finished working on the carb I spent some time sanding body panels in anticipation of painting later this week. That's slow, dusty work.
The fold-down center console in the Dodge has torn vinyl. Today Pam made a fitted cover for it out of black denim. When it gets dirty it can go in the wash, and it looks a lot better than the tear. She even sewed some loops into it to hold my glasses/sun glasses.
She's pretty handy with a sewing machine.
I also used some foam we got at the fabric store to build up a lumber support for my seat that tucks inside the seat covers I got. Much better!
Do you believe Brian Williams has decided to step back from on-air duties for a few days? 'cause I don't. I think his bosses told him he was going to be invisible until they got this sorted out, but let him describe it as his choice to save them all some face.
Pam took a couple of bags from our hybrid oranges next door this afternoon. Ten minutes later she came back with the same two bags.
This time of year oranges in AZ are like summer zucchini in Michigan. Everybody has too many and you can't give them away.
For a variety of reasons I've been way off my gym routine for five or six weeks, including the last week when getting out of bed felt like exercise. I can sure feel the difference, and see it in the way my clothes fit. They're baggy everywhere but my waistline. Hopefully I can get back to my daily visits this Monday. It's gonna hurt.
Full schedule tomorrow at Pathway, including a visiting family that will soon head to Paraguay as missionaries. I'll introduce them first hour and they'll take second hour. He's originally from Uruguay, she's from Mexico, and their story is pretty interesting. Should be fun and informative.
