"I am not a cat man, but a dog man. And all felines can tell this at a glance - a sharp, vindictive glance." - James Thurber
It's Sunday night and I'm unusually tired even by that standard because I didn't get my post-church nap. That's because I had too many must-do tasks for a nap.
The first was to watch the F1 race from Bahrain that was on while we were at church. I recorded it and carefully avoided all news sites that might give me the result. Lewis Hamilton won (he's the one I root for) in a race that included lots of good action.
Then I had to pack. I have a 5:10 a.m. flight tomorrow that goes through Dallas and has me arriving in Grand Rapids late afternoon. The pastor's conference starts Tuesday and goes through dinner Thursday. Early Friday morning I'll fly to Seattle, meet Pam who will have flown up from here, and we'll spend the weekend with family celebrating my folks' 70th wedding anniversary. That celebration will include a Seattle Symphony concert featuring a pianist playing a Chopin piece my mom performed at a concert when she was a child (and a prodigy). Then Pam and I fly home Monday so we can both be back to work Tuesday morning.
Whew!
Since yesterday's "theme" post I got a lot done on the truck's wiring. The engine compartment is all done, the generator-to-alternator conversion done, and I added a fuse panel inside. All I have left is the connections under the dash, and I've got those wires are all labeled so I know which terminal each attaches to. Should go fairly quickly.
As soon as that's done - a couple of hours? - and fluids are added I should be ready for initial fire.
Reports say Tim Tebow will sign with the Philly Eagles tomorrow. I like that! Their coach is Chip Kelley who ran an up-tempo, almost frenetic offense at the University of Oregon. Tebow will probably be their #3 QB, but the Eagles' first two are both marginal, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Kelly move down the depth chart.
Tebow's problem the first time around was an unorthodox throwing motion that took too long - late release - and had him letting it go too low. Defensive linemen were too often knocking his passes down. In the past year Tebow has been spending time here in Phoenix with a famous QB coach and with Kurt Warner (another outspoken believer).
Yeah, I'm pulling for him. It would be another Warner-esque Cinderella story.
Last week we watched the Frontline program on the death camps. Tonight we watched the 60 Minutes segment on the use of Sarin gas in Syria. Horrible to view, but also necessary.
