"Quality is not an act, it is a habit." - Aristotle

Yeah, I've been AWOL. Pam and I decided to do what old, empty-nesters do and skip town for a couple of days. So deal with it. (We had a great time.)

Did you see the Savannah Guthrie / Ron Paul interview in The Today Show? Goodness!
I'm not a fan of what passes for journalism on TV, especially the morning show variety. But this interview was noteworthy IMO, not because of the content of either the question or its answer, but the nature of the exchange. Savannah asked a fairly lengthy question, the essence of which was, "Have your views changed?" It was long because she cited his position on five or six issues from the past and his more recent statements, and they don't jive. At about citation number two (is Iran a threat?) he decided he didn't like the way the direction she was taking and began his response. Not to be deterred she continued with her list and he continued to interrupt, each of them getting louder and more determined in tone. When she got to the end of her list (it took some effort to stay focused with Paul's vocal pushback in her earpiece) he got after her for interrupting his response. Never mind that he interrupted her.

The next day he said he was going to be less "testy" in press interviews. That's a word.
And I wondered if his treatment of Savannah was noted by others from the press who will come at him harder than they might have otherwise to see if they can get the same kind of reaction. Hey, who would have paid any attention to a Savannah Guthrie interview except for his response. Here's a chance for the next journalist to make the news.

The Phoenix Suns snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, sliding out of playoff contention in the easiest division in the NBA. The Diamondbacks are sparing us from false hopes by starting out the season in last place.

I'm preaching 2 Kings 5 this Sunday - Naaman's healing. That's one of my favorite accounts. So much important truth there, so many take-aways.

My neighbor two doors down is a snow bird and headed back to MI on Monday. So today I borrowed his monster pressure washer and did the driveway. I was hoping it would remove the epoxy sealer I spilled when spraying the truck but it didn't. It did, however, get everything else off and has the pavement looking almost spiffy.
I took my right angle grinder to those spots and I think that's going to be adequate. I didn't finish because I ran out of time, but based on what I got done...if you didn't know to look for them you wouldn't notice.
Besides saving the work involved, painting the driveway was going to cost me several hundred dollars to do right. Yeah, I like this a lot better.

But I'm whooped!
