That awkward moment when you walk through the metal detector and your abs of steel set it off.

I worked on the truck's wiring this morning and I *think* good progress was made. Almost everything under the hood is done, the exception being the harness that will convert it from a generator to alternator setup. That shouldn't take too long.
I still have a rat's nest of wires under the dash that need to be connected to all the right terminals. And a new fuse block to wire in. And my own wiring to make up for the heater and the wipers. And for the dome lamp.
But other than that it's just about wrapped up.

It's amazing how fast time goes by when you've committed to doing a set of pull ups every hour on the hour.

F1 racing two weeks in a row. Good stuff.

We watched some of the Barrett-Jackson auction from Palm Beach FL while we ate dinner. A 1950 DeSoto like the one I drove in H.S. go for $14,000. It was a three-on-the-tree, not the semi-automatic I fumbled with, and dark blue instead of Adante Green. But seeing it made me nostalgic...and wish I could drive it again.
And sell it for $14k.

80 pull ups done throughout the day, then at the gym this afternoon 75 sit ups, 325 jump rope, and 84 pushup burpees.
I will sleep soundly tonight and graze on whatever my mouth has a taste for between now and then.

I was the 2nd to last owner of that DeSoto. Around 1982 I went to California to retrieve it from Cuz. Norman and Uncle Jack & I drove it back to Seattle. A great road trip with him. I looked into restoring it. The price was $10-$12,000 and the guy said (a) I'd never get my $$ out of it so (b) I better do it for family nostalgia or a passion for the car. Family issues resulted in my giving it to Uncle Jack in 1986 and after he died, Aunt Cel sold it for around $100. I guess if I had restored it, I WOULD have made my money back ... after 30 years. $2000 after that time would barely exceed 0.5%/year, a pitiful ROI. Would have been fun to still own &drive it though.
