"Drawing on my fine command of the English language, I said nothing." - Robert Benchley
Right now (5:15 p.m.) it's ten degrees hotter in Elmira, OR than it is here in Sun City, AZ. They're getting a record setting heat wave and we've got a monsoon storm rolling through. Not to worry, by tomorrow morning all will be back to normal.
Pam and I agreed that we like being in Oregon more, but not for the reasons you're expecting. Those, too, but when we're there we work together on projects associated with preparing the place for living. Here we have our own projects and responsibilities so it doesn't feel like we're as "together" as we are there. Pam has her job (she got sent home early today), I'm out in the garage working on the truck, and this house is so...big. If she's in the kitchen and I'm in the living room we can't see each other, and with the fans and AC running can only hear each other if we speak very loudly. In MoHo, and even more in our tiny house, we'll be in the same space, and we're looking forward to that.
I spent time at Starbucks this afternoon and prepared an outline for the first of the six sessions I'll do at the beginning of my time in Costa Rica. Next up: preparing the PowerPoint slides for that session. That presentation will then get emailed to Alonso who will translate the text on each slide into Spanish.
I got the truck's bed boards sealed and stained this morning. The stain has to dry for eight hours before I can apply the varnish, so that will happen tomorrow. They recommend a minimum of three coats and I plan to do four or five. But they have to be at least four hours apart and no more than 12. That could get tricky when the driveway is in the sun and triple digits after about 11 a.m. Methinks a midnight application may be required.
I've got nothing else today. A cup of coffee, some of Pam's paleo chocolate cookies, and bed.
Note: it's a lot later than when I started this post. I'm really not that lame.
