Also, when the light goes green don't move for at least two seconds.
Yesterday we attended Emmaus Life church, a 3-year old Evangelical Free Church startup. If you're one of my former homiletics students you'll understand when I say "total shotgun." Only about 25 people there, but it's summer. Pastor seemed like a nice guy, I give them a C on the friendly scale, and we'll go back when we move up here. No church should be ruled in/out on the basis of one visit unless they're obviously fringe in some sense.

dozens of T-posts she used to hold up her 8' deer fencing and there were two 10' 4x4 posts for the gate into that area. The ground is gravely so you can't dig with a shovel. Start with a pick ax and then shovel out the loosened ground. Repeat as necessary.
That pick ax is getting lots of work. Saturday I used it to dig a 6" trench across both legs of the L-shaped driveway (ugh) so I could bury the cable coming from the satellite dish coming at the far end of the driveway. I got 150' of hose, cut off the ends, and split it length-wise to serve as a conduit for the cable, which lays above ground except where it has to cross the driveway.
Today I'm finishing up the laminate flooring. Pics when that's done, but it won't really be finished until I get the trim in -baseboards, doors and windows. That will have to wait until we move up in the fall.
Later today they'll come get the dumpster. No more room. I've got more stuff, but that will also have to wait until we move. In the meantime we'll leave it in MoHo or Fred.
Pam was surprised we filled up a 20-yard box. but the lady who lived here had been on the site for decades and gradually accumulated lots and lots of stuff, including thousands (literally) of old plastic pots and trays from greenhouses.
Did you hear about the totally washed away bridge on I-10 in eastern CA?
Care to guess how we get home?
It's going to be a round-about route that will include Nevada and parts of norther AZ rarely seen by anyone but locals. And a few extra hours in the car. Oh well.
While at this coffee shop I purchased my tickets for Costa Rica the first two weeks of Sept. Just under $600, not that much more than when Pam flies to G.R. to see her mother.
I'm working on my lessons and slide presentations, with lots of work still to go, but I'm eager to teach in what should be a fascinating setting.
OK, over to the Ace Hdw here in Veneta to get some paint and glue and then back to work on the flooring.
