Courage is fire, and bullying is smoke." - Benjamin Disraeli

We left the house at 2:30 a.m. for the Portland airport and got there about 4:45. Dropped off Pam and her suitcase and I headed back home, but I had to pull over south of Salem for about 20 minutes 'cause I just could not stay alert. Stopped at a favorite for b'fast in Harrisburg and was home by 8:30.
If you're ever near Harrisburg you've got to eat at Molly's. And trust me, have the BACON!

As a result of that very early start this hasn't been my most productive day in recent memory. I did get the barn extension done save for the gate from the main area to the birthing suite, and went in to the feed store to pick up ten day-old Rhode Island Red chicks.

I also trimmed Stella's hooves. Did that because I knew Marta was going to stop over and I wanted her to check my work. I passed.
She thinks Stella has excellent conformation and a great coat. Itzhak is "a stocky guy," which is good to hear because it means lots of meat. Sundae isn't all that big around, but her udder development indicates the earlier of the two possibilities, June 20, is the likely kidding date.
And both Itzhak and Sundae need de-worming, so I'll go in to the feed store Tuesday and get the liquid med that treats that problem.

I downloaded another Librivox.org book, this one a collection of short stories. I thought they were all by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but the 20 stories are from a wide variety of authors.
EXCELLENT!!!
I listened to four or five on the trip up/back to Portland and loved all of them.

One of the stories is very short! It's by Robert Louis Stevenson, titled "The Four Reformers."
Yep!

Sometimes I think God is trying to teach me something, but I can't figure out what it is. And I don't know how to get there. Hmmmm.

When Pam's gone the fan isn't on oscillating; I leave it pointed right at me. I watch whatever I want on TV and listen to my "screaming ladies" (opera arias).
I'd sure rather have her here.
