"The English have three vegetables, and two of them are cabbage." - Walter Page
This was a very long day.
I spent over two hours in three separate phone calls with Verizon's tech support. The guy at the Verizon store handed Pam the phone he'd programmed with my number and visa versa. So when we transferred all of our data - contacts, pics, Google content, etc. - over to "our" phones it was all wrong.
Today's calls to tech support were an effort to get the numbers switched so numbers and data would match.
The first call involved two different techs and lasted 90 minutes. The second two calls lasted 30+ minutes with a drive in between to go down the hill to where I could get cell coverage.
I *think* we got the problem resolved but nobody's sure because there's no explanation for why it happened. Even the Verizon tech thinks the next time we drive into coverage it will revert back to wrong.
Heavy sigh.
This afternoon I butchered Burrito. We got 26 lbs. of meat, down from the 34 lbs. we got from his brother. I could have waited longer but the timing worked out well to do it before we head to Seattle and I didn't want to wait until we got back.
Each time I do this it goes a bit better. This time it took me 90 minutes instead of the two hours it took with AJ. It's the skinning that went faster today. I'm figuring out the best order for doing things, that it's best to pull the hide out not down as I cut, and that as long as I'm not saving the hide there's no reason to be careful with it.
I got our tacky Christmas letter written and ready for publication. I'll send it out to most people in an email, put it in this blog (maybe tomorrow's post) and put a link to it on our Facebook pages.
Dolly has scours (aka diarrhea). I'll treat her with some probiotic tomorrow and cut back on the alfalfa and hope that does the trick.
If Marta and David get back from a getaway to the coast in time she'll come get Sundae tomorrow afternoon and take her back to their place for breeding while we're gone. That will leave just Dolly and Stella here for the weekend, and those two do NOT get along. Mostly the problem is Stella who chases Dolly mercilessly.
I'm gonna have a cup of coffee, a bucketload of cookies, and go to BED. I'm bushed.
