"Simplicity is making the journey of this life with just baggage enough." - Charles Dudley Warner

Mac support for windows

Yikes! I leave in four days and life is getting crazier as that time approaches.

Remember that truck auction we were in? We'd set a ceiling of $10k for a really nice 85 F250 Lariat that was in excellent condition and good lookin' besides. I dropped out at $8,700 because that plus the 5% buyer's fee put us pretty close to that ceiling and it just didn't feel right. I'd rather have didn't buyer's remorse. It was a sweet truck but we agreed letting it go was the right move.

Remember that I took Sally up to the mechanic to figure out the carb issue and reinstall the distributor? When I picked up the car I told him we were looking for a replacement for the Kia and that if he came across something I'd appreciate hearing about it.
"I'm going to look at one tomorrow."
The story: a recent widow who doesn't drive was selling their 1997 Chevy Blazer and wanted Ray to look at it and give his view of an appropriate selling price.
He called me today. It's a one-owner, always garaged, in pristine condition with every option available and has 97,000 miles, many of which were put on in tow behind their big RV.
He's going to take it to his shop and go through it. The AC needs a charge or service and he'll go through everything else. She'd rather he handle the sale than have people coming to her house and she wants to talk to her two adult kids about it on Sunday.
He told her to ask $3800 and accept $3500 and she was thinking $4000. He says you could eat dinner off any part of it, the leather seats are perfect, and he thinks it's worth every cent.
He told her I'm leaving Tuesday so she's going to talk to her kids, he's going to go through it, and by Monday we may own a Blazer.
I think he said it's black (we don't care) and I don't know if it's a 2- or 4-door (we don't care).

When we exited the auction for the truck we agreed we'd wait on God's plan. I asked the mechanic to keep an eye out just because it seemed like a smart thing to do. I was sure surprised to hear him say he was going the next day to look at one, never mind one a fraction of the cost and arguably a better vehicle...with much better mpg.
T'ank you, Fadder.

Caveat: we'll see what Monday brings.

This morning before the rain started I used the string trimmer to get everything cleaned up and got the blueberries and rhubarb weeded.
I got the repaired radiator in Sally this afternoon. Tomorrow I'll start on the new carb, but because that will require some fabrication and alterations I don't know if I'll finish. My stock air cleaner won't fit on this carb so I'll either have to buy an aftermarket unit or order the adapter at $40. (ugh)

My mom is headed for an assisted living home as soon as she's released from rehab. Transitions. Hard.
