You have to be of a certain age to get that.
Today I learned the term "Hobson's Choice." It means be given a choice when there really isn't a choice at all, a "take it or leave it" situation.
"You can eat your peas or you can see them again for breakfast, and then lunch, and then..."
Hobson's Choice.

I'm leading worship next Sunday when we sing classic hymns in a classic format. One of the hymns will be "O Worship the King." The first line of the last verse: "O measureless might, ineffable love...."
I wonder how many will wonder what that word means and how many will just sing it thoughtlessly - you know, like most people sing most worship songs.
Ineffable; (adj.) too great or extreme to be described in words.
I reserved a compact car for the trip to Seattle. It was the same price as a subcompact and those cars are just scary. We stopped to pick up the car on the way home from church and I knew when we pulled in to the Enterprise lot there was a problem.

"OK, that's enough. You can slow down now! Please!"
(triple digits very quickly.)
I'll leave here at 3 a.m. or whenever I'm awake. The plan is a stop for b'fast and a brief nap if I feel like I need it. When I get to town I'll go see mom at her new place - I haven't seen it yet - and then take her to the restaurant where her three sons will join her for dinner.
Work starts Tuesday morning.
Do you think mom wants to see how quickly this car will do zero to 60??
