Being President is like running a cemetery. You've got a lot of people under you and nobody is listening." - Bill Clinton

Punctuation matters.

First, the most important news...
There's no news. They did an angiogram this afternoon and found no blockages and so didn't put in any stents. That leaves us almost where we were36 hours ago. The cardiologist finally came in this morning and said there's no question Pam had a heart attack. Interestingly, that's something none of the hospital doctors were willing to say.

But the question remains, why? Her cholesterol levels, blood pressure, heart rate, and shoe size are all very good. So why did she have a heart attack? And if we don't know the cause how can we be sure she won't have another one? That's why we were hoping they'd find a blockage and put in a stent(s).

I'm disappointed the cardiologist didn't come to see her after the angiogram. As a result she's staying another night in the hospital. We're assuming he'll come tomorrow morning but the nurse said it's impossible to know when. It's about a 45 minute drive from home to the hospital, longer if it's the a.m. or p.m. commute. I'll plan on being there at 8 a.m. per the nurse's advice, and hope the dr. comes sooner rather than later.

We're assuming once he's been in he'll write discharge orders and Pam can come home. Our flight to Phoenix leaves at noon on Thursday so time is getting tight. It looks like we'll be going with a suitcase of dirty clothes do launder there because there's no time to get to a laundromat here.

I'm pooped!

At some point tomorrow I have to clean the coop and the weaning shed, water the garden and berries, put away all my tools from working on the trailer, get the "dog" to the boarding place...oh, and pack.

In between my morning and evening trips to the hospital I worked on the trailer and got it as far as I can without more supplies. That will wait until I get back. I like the way it's turning out.

I think a strong case could be made that inaction by the USTA has resulted in the U.S. Open being decided by the weather not by the players. This is brutal to watch.

I'm going to spend the night in my chair. It's easier than getting up to go to bed.
