"Sooner or later everyone sits down to a banquet of consequences." - Robt. Louis Stevenson
I got the 4"x10' fence poles this morning and a few bags of cement. Pam helped me get five of the poles set. It's a good thing we laugh easily because doing a project like this together could have been a problem.
They say married couples shouldn't work together to hang wallpaper. Setting fence poles might be in the same category for some, but for us it was almost a comedy.
Poor Buddy had a terrible night and decided to share it with me. At 1 a.m. he came and laid down on the floor next to my side of the bed. His horribly congested sinuses made him WAY to noisy to sleep through so I came out to my chair.
He followed me out.
At 3 a.m. he started pawing me like he had to go out so we did. When we came back in - more of the same.
I'm taking him to an appt. at the vet next Thursday morning for...maybe an Xray of his sinuses, maybe a scope, or...? In the meantime the vet said (phone call) that I can try Benadryl but it probably won't do any good.
It couldn't hurt! And we both need sleep.
Sometimes lighting and maintaining a fire is a hassle. It's all a LOT easier with this new stove. It often took me two or three tries with the old stove and because it had a solid door I had to get up to check every time. Had the fire taken off or was it a FAIL? Does it need more wood yet?
I've never needed a second try at starting a fire with the new stove and the glass door makes it easy to see how it's doing and if it needs more wood.
And there's something about coming in from chores to see a crackling fire.
I've got a sermon in my head. Last time this happened Brett called me on a Thursday to say there'd been a mixup and he needed me to preach.
dokimadzo - a pretty cool word that's used of God's will (Rom. 12:2) and of the way we should view trials (James 1:3).
I need to do more work on it. Maybe I'd better be quick about it.
