"Worry is the interest paid by those who borrow trouble." - George Washington

At 8:30 we'd had 2" of rain since midnight. And it is still raining (at 9:30 a.m.). When I fed goats this morning the pen was best suited for raising pigs.

The DishTV guy was there for about 30 minutes. He said the two satellite dishes that give us our TV signal (two different groups of channels) were misaligned. Isn't it odd that they both went out of alignment at exactly the same time? They're 50' apart and not near anything.
Oh well. Pam has her Hallmark Christmas movies back so she's happy.

I'm obviously writing this throughout the day, using that as a mental break from a morning dedicated to reading.
At 11:00 we've had 2.5" of rain. The radar shows a break until about dinner time when it will start back up.

It's now nearly 6:00 p.m., I've finished dinner, and it's starting to rain again. We'll only get a trace tonight before a partly sunny day tomorrow. Then more than half an inch on Thursday.

Pam's gone for the evening. She and another lady from church are delivering gifts to the kids of a mom who is in prison. Our church participates in the Angel Tree program and that's how we learn about these families who need a bit of brightness at Christmas. UFC does a lot of good stuff and this is an example.

My life the last couple of weeks has been about conversations - the kind that matter.
An important discussion about salvation at our small group last night.
Significant conversations with each of the three guys I'm mentoring.
What I hope will lead to a transforming conversation with the lady who cut my hair last week. I went back to see her on my way home to invite her to our Christmas service Sunday. She needs hope, comfort, purpose. She needs the Lord.

Whoever said talk is cheap didn't know whereof they spoke. Talk can change lives when God works inside that conversation.

The people are the best part.
