(Fart is the German and Swedish word for speed)
I did our weekly conversation with Levy and while I was there dear Emily changed my dressing. With Pam in AZ with the kids I'm thankful for Emily's willingness.
While I was there I loaded up Stella (that required Levy's help because Stella was NOT cooperative) and brought the now-pregnant doe home. I also brought home the 12 pullets Emily has been raising for us.
They're chicks until their feathered out, and then pullets until they lay their first egg, at which point they're hens.
They're understandably scared to be in new surroundings so when I open the coop door they run to the furthest corner and huddle nervously. That will last for a few days. Once they've adjusted to their new space in the coop I'll open the hatch door that allows them into the pen.
I spent all afternoon working on Sally. The interior is now stripped of seats, carpet, center console, and seatbelts. This "before" pic (seats already out) shows the stock center console, which was an upgrade in 1966. I care about useability more than originality and that "fancy" console is a PITA. Because they made things out of metal back then it rattles unlike car interiors made out of plastic. And there's no place for cup holders. So out came that center console (it didn't come out easily) to be replaced by....
Patience, Grasshopper.
Tomorrow I'll vacuum the interior, maybe put in new padding if I can find something that works at Home Depot, and then start putting the pieces back in. New carpet, new shift console, seats, seatbelts new door sills....
Will everything go in smoothly? Not a chance.
All of this started when I put in a replacement floor panel on the passenger side because the original floor had rusted through.
One of the things I like most about teaching is the prep. I learn more than I teach. I study a topic thoroughly but have to leave out of the lesson bits of info that don't fit my purposes, would cloud the essential content, or just can't get said in the time allotted. But I still get to learn them.
