"The best measure of a man's honesty isn't his income tax return. It's the zero adjust on his bathroom scale." - Arthur C. Clarke

I got home a little after midnight and pretty much crawled right into bed. Couldn't sleep in, though. The body slipped right back into the routine.

This morning's bike ride felt good.
OK, that's not the truth. It was a killer, but I did have a pretty good time over the 15 mile route, with an average speed about one mph faster than I was riding when we left. That could be from fully rested muscles, from the time climbing stairs from the beach and walking trails, or from the cinnamon rolls.

I had no idea they sold cinnamon rolls in a 6-pack! And an 8-pack! That's what I get for never going in grocery stores. And they come in re-sealable plastic containers that work just like a tray if you take the lid off! That may have been THE best part of vacation - discovering those things. A package of cinnamon rolls, a fork (not really necessary, as I discovered toward the end) and life is good.

Because we packed up everything in the rain I put tent set up out in the garage, along with the groundcloth, the sleeping bags and the folding canvas chairs, all to dry out. Our garage smells like a combination of camp fire and bacon. Mmmmm! Can they put that in a candle? 'cause I'm in if they do.

3,740 miles.
What part of "Slower traffic keep right" is so hard to understand?
Did you know the Golden Gate Bridge isn't that orange/rust color anymore? It's gray. Why?
California has closed many of their rest stops. As evidence of govt.'s innate cruelty they don't tell you a particular rest stop is closed until you're nearly upon it.
"Rest Stop - 38 miles." OK, I can make that.
"Rest Stop - 12 miles." It's going to be close
"Rest Stop - 2 miles. CLOSED" AAARGH!!!
"Rest Stop - next right. CLOSED Next rest stop 32 miles."
OK, open or closed???
Who am I kidding? I'm not gonna make it that far anyway.

I left my hat somewhere in Grants Pass. I had no idea it was this hard to buy a simple hat (cap). I hate to pay the $$$ they get at the hat store in the mall but I may have to. Gotta have a the head covered in the Phoenix sun.

Why would anyone in govt. oppose a balanced budget amendment? Even those who don't do it agree everyone should live within their means. Don't spend more than you have, always set some of your income aside for savings and if you can't afford it don't buy it. Credit is using money you don't have to buy things you don't need, things that will end up costing significantly more than their purchase price. Meanwhile, your creditor becomes your master.
Why is what's best for individuals not best for a country?
Is there a reason we're better off for owing money to China?

Bro, I have somewhere near 190 hats. If you need a hat, tell me and I'll ahve a few waiting for you when you arrive prior to your camp engagement. Seriously, I've got bankers boxes full of them at the cabin. Some I won't part with but there's still a pretty good collction. I think I'll end up e-Bay'ing them...
