No matter what goes wrong, there is always someone who knew it would.

Andy Roddick turned 30 today and announced his retirement with the end of his participation in the U.S. Open now being played in NYC. He's got a second round match tomorrow night which he should win, but the emotional burden of things may be too much. He said as much at his presser this afternoon to announce his decision.

I took my (sermon writing) act on the road this morning and landed at Paradise Bakery for my usual: plain bagel toasted, plain cream cheese, and a small coffee. This week I got the booth one out from the far corner which was occupied by a couple that looked to be 40-ish. Needed the ear buds again.
If a man and woman need to hash out issues they both feel very strongly about and on which they have very opposing views, why would they do it in a restaurant? Let's say they aren't living together and can't do it at home, isn't there some other option for their verbal battle?

I am three weeks away from the lifting of all restrictions. I'm even looking forward to burpees. This is killing me. (figure of speech)

The electric bill came today but I didn't have the heart to open it. That string of 8 or 10 days with temps over 110 is going to cost us dearly. I'll let Pam have that thrill. After all, I've already got heart problems.

Some guys got it, some don't. It has nothing to do with substance, it's that difficult to define ability to connect with people in a public speaking format. President Obama has it, Mitt Romney does not. It's not his fault, and again, it says nothing about who he is or the validity of his ideas. He speaks to people, he doesn't talk to them. I think his style might have worked better 40 or 50 years ago when oratory still had a place in the public square.

The RNC had some outstanding opening acts over all three nights. And it's not that Romney did a bad job. He just doesn't have "it."

IMO
