Does "anal retentive" have a hyphen?

Who knew cows had such good taste in music?

Continuing the musical meat theme...

Can you tell I'm not going to wax philosophical tonight?

I did 24 miles on the bike this morning in cool weather with a 7 mph wind. And yes, when you're on a bike 7 mph counts as a wind. The ride went fine but my body is feeling it tonight. Tomorrow? Yeah, I'm expecting legs that feel like cement.

I had high hopes for installing the VW carpet and rubber mats this afternoon but discovered I'm missing a couple of key parts. Wolfsburg West is the preferred supplier for VW restoration parts but their stuff comes without instructions. And because I got Ilsa without any interior I don't know how things should go in until I have the parts in hand and try it out. After dry fitting the carpet I realized I need heater vent covers before the front quarter panels go in, and I didn't order the rubber mat piece that goes on the firewall behind the pedals. So I ordered those items this afternoon ($13) and will try this again when they show up the middle of next week.

NASCAR is in town for the weekend. The infield at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) fills up with RV's and Budweiser trucks and the population inside the track perimeter will be 14,000 people and 3,600 mullets.

I won't watch any of the races. NASCAR doesn't do it for me. But next weekend Formula 1 is coming to the U.S. with the inaugural race at the brand new "Circuit of the Americas" course in Austin, TX. It's been years since F1 raced in the U.S. so this is a big deal. They were supposed to have a second U.S. race in N.J. next year but they won't have the course ready in time so it's been pushed back to 2014. That one will run on the streets of N.J. and is supposed to be an outstanding course.

I planned to write about how we can achieve world peace in my lifetime but... I'm too tired. I think I have just enough energy for an hour of mindless TV and some fresh-from-the-oven brownies. Then it's bedtime.
Yeah, I'm old.
