I'm allergic to stupidity. I break out in sarcasm.
We had a Sun City Christmas, which means the house was quiet and one of us was near death. Pam's cold has gotten worse and her cough is scary bad. Tomorrow she'll call her dr. and see if she can get something to turn this around. We planned to have the kids and grandkids over Wednesday evening for our Christmas gathering but she won't be better by then. And Michelle, who is less than three weeks from her due date, does not need to catch whatever this is.
David Coulthard drives a Formula 1 race car. Jake Shepherd plays on the PGA tour. AMG takes already screaming Mercedes and turns them into mind blowing performance cars. Here's what happens when the three get together:
The Catch
The torch wasn't necessary. Some very careful pounding with a hammer and wedging with two screw drivers eventually got the thermostat cover off. Yep, the old thermostat was stuck in the open position. Cleaning the mess up took some time and revealed the reason the cover was so hard to get off. It wasn't rust. The last guy to remove it slathered gasket compound all over everything before bolting it back in place. It was essentially glued in place with a gummy substance that held like...glue. But it's all back together with a new 180-degree thermostat, and a drive around our 1-mile square section of Sun City got the engine up to operating temp, a feat the 20 mile drive into church Sunday failed to do. Now I need to tweak the choke and idle settings a bit more, but that will wait until tomorrow.
I'm thinking about learning the ukulele. I've done some research and they say it's the easiest instrument to learn. I already know music. Decades of cello and vocal should mean it would just learning the technique. And they're cheap.
Hmmmm.
Almost without exception our Sun City neighbors are nice. A lot of the people at the rec center are grumpy. Why do so many old people turn sour? Or are they grumpy in equal proportions in any adult age group?
If there's a reason I want to know what it is so I can avoid it.
Or maybe it's already too late?

Weird! I was just thinking the other day how it'd be fun to learn to play the ukulele! It's only got four strings. I think I could handle that. (It might even be easier than learning how to spell "ukulele".)
