"To be wronged in nothing unless you continue to remember it." - Confucius

If you don't go any further, please read this.
And if you want a complimentary viewpoint, go here.

We got to 70 degrees here today. Wonderful!

You know that bit where you see a cool old car, then get a look at the driver and see it's an old guy? I realized today while out in the Rambler that I'm that old guy.
I'm cautiously optimistic that I've got all the significant problems solved. It doesn't run especially good when cold but I hesitate to adjust the choke any further because it runs so strong once it's up to temp.

Monday Night Football is on tonight. (I don't get it either.) The Falcons, one of the best teams in football, play the Lions, one of the worst teams in the NFL, better only than the AZ Cardinals. I predict that by the second quarter we'll be watching NCIS reruns.

We only have our worship service at Pathway tomorrow. No second hour classes. Because we meet in a school this will serve as our one Christmas service. It's too difficult and expensive for us to find a place for a Christmas Eve or Christmas Day service. Someday...

I met Jim, the pastor of my home church, for coffee when we were in Seattle last week. We also grew up together there, so we're childhood friends and colleagues. He mentioned that he's done five funerals so far this month. I can't remember the last funeral I did. I think it was probably for Eloise, a precious special needs child who died two years ago.
Our congregations have very different demographics, and while I value Jim's ministry - especially because he's so good to my 90-year old parents - I'm sure glad I have a group of young adults.

A brief post. I've got a few chores I want to finish up before Pam gets home from work and that's less than an hour from now. And I'll go over things for tomorrow morning. The service is just a bit more complex because it's the Christmas service.

More anon.

Thx for the links to the two Adam Lanza pieces. As for MNF, I read that on my cable on-screen schedule and wondered if it was a repeat or if I had finally severed the slender thread of sanity that let's me know the what day of the week I exist in.
