This made me laugh.
Came home to get the laundry closet set up as a regular closet with shelf, closet rod and hooks installed. This is right across from the back door so it's convenient to come in with muddy shoes (winter in OR) and wet jacket and shed them for clean dry stuff. I've got a boot tray on the floor so water & mud stay contained.
We're pleased with the way the bathroom turned out. We still have to decide about replacing the vanity and flooring but it doesn't have that slightly "uhmm" feel anymore. Clean and neat.
I got the teardrop out of Barnette and tucked into its appointed storage space, and it only took me about 10 minutes to back it in there between the trees. Something about that tiny teardrop sitting in the shadow of tiny Fred feels congruent.
The space in Barnette is now available for the truck.
The truck.
I am so angry.
It is now in the hands of a different trucker from a different company and he assures me it will be here late tomorrow - 5 p.m. or so.
[Note: I say "here" but I'm actually having it dropped off at Junction City Muffler about 13 miles up the road so they can put an exhaust system on it.]
He also told me there are footprints all over the hood - Adidas - and it won't close or open fully. Push it down and it will click, but give it a tug and it will pop up to that first position. However, no amount of tugging on the latch will fully release it so it can be opened. He's put straps on it so it can't blow open as he drives but the battery is dead so he had to winch it on his truck. I'm assuming he'll get it off the same way, but then what? How do I get it open to charge the battery and give them access to the engine compartment?
It's hard not to think the footprints are what messed up the hood which worked fine when it was loaded.
The broker assures me Felt Transport is fully liable for any damage but I'm skeptical that a company so messed up that they couldn't even get my truck here is going to come through with compensation for damages.
I need some coffee. And a cookie or six from the batch Pam made this morning while I was studying. And a night's sleep.
Lord, teach me to let go.

Hey, as you've heard in your younger years relating to other scenarios, "We'll sue them if it takes every nickel you've got."
Well, Craig, at least you have your blog to present to the court as proof of your time and work.
To quote someone else... This stinks!
