"In its worst forms conservatism is a matter of 'I hate strangers and anything different.'" - P.J. O'Rourke
I know I've said it before, but I'm exhausted, and struggling to stay awake until dinner. After that I don't care how long I last.
I worked all day and got the woodshed done except for closing in the 4'x6' bay at the end that will be a storeroom. I started by getting two 17' strips of rolled roofing on and then nailed up the cedar fence boards I used for the walls. By setting them with a 1.5" gap I hope to have good conditions for drying freshly cut wood when the time comes. But I can't wait; we'll run out of wood in the next week or two. So tomorrow I'll call Pony and get another cord from him. I hate to pay $175 for fir and alder, but I hate paying for electric heat even more.
I have space for about two and a half cords and hope to have it full going into next winter with wood I've cut myself.
This is a handsome car and would make a very nice driver. I'm curious to see the final price at the end of the auction.
I liked Natalie Cole's music and her life story. Never heard anything from her that I didn't like. Her passing made me think I should download more of it.
This year's bowl games have, as a group, been disappointing. Too many blowouts that were pretty much over by the end of the first quarter. I'm planning on watching Oregon play TCU in tomorrow's Alamo Bowl, which should be more interesting now that the TCU QB has been charged with a felony and sent home.
How stupid do you have to be to get so drunk you charge a cop two days before the biggest college game of your life?
BBCAmerica ran an Alfred Hitchcock marathon all day. But I was outside working, watched football during lunch, and won't last through a whole movie tonight.
Dinner is done (good meal), the evening news almost over, and nothing on the agenda engaging enough to keep me awake. At 6:30 this is a problem.
