"Nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program." - Milton Freedman

My blog posts have been irregular, but if you have a problem with that, get over it. We're in Phoenix enjoying our kids and grandkids, and that ranks much, much higher on the list of things to do than writing posts.

We haven't done grand things or gone on adventures worth memorializing here. That's not our thing. We hang out, work on projects together, and be "us."

Yesterday I helped Josh install gutters on their patio roof. We've picked up kids from school in the afternoon, kept an eye on playoff games, and done a late Christmas together.

We thoroughly enjoy our kids and grandkids. The four adults are each bright, talented, and fun to be with. The four grandkids have their parents' intellect and engaging personalities. I held 9-month old Emily for the music portion of this morning's church service and she "sang" right along, keeping time with her swinging feet. The music stopped and she stopped.
We may have a budding musician here.

Speaking of church this morning, they had a brief Skype session with a missionary couple in Tanzania that this congregation supports. When asked what was going on in their ministry they mentioned prep for an upcoming conference that included Craig MacDonald. He didn't know I was sitting in the congregation, so we got a "what are the chances" moment. When asked for prayer items she mentioned the three Black Mombas that had been killed in front of their house in the last two weeks.
Hmmmm.

Tonight we'll all have pizza together at Josh & Aubri's. Our return flight is at 2:15 tomorrow afternoon but we've got a couple of stores we want to hit, so that will occupy the morning. Then it's back to Portland, a 2-hour drive, and home to Baker Rd.

Good visit! Gonna have to do this again.
