"Democracy is a process by which people are free to choose the man who will get the blame." - Laurence J. Peter

My dr. appt. this morning went well. We've enjoyed getting to know Robyn and Anders (yeah, a good Norwegian name) through church so I wondered what it would be like to see her in a professional setting. She's just as pleasant and unassuming, but five minutes into the appointment I could tell she's very smart and very competent. My medical history is varied and a bit out of the normal, but she was conversant with all of it.
By 3:30 I'd had a call from a cardiologist's office, one of the referrals I needed.

I only had a few hours this afternoon to work on the chicken run but made good progress. While I was doing that Pam dug up bricks. One of the mysteries of this plot is the dozens of red bricks buried in the dirt just below the surface in the corner over by the coop. Some are in blocks of 4-6, held together with the original mortar, but most are single, at or just below the surface. At some point they were part of a structure, but we sure can't figure out what that was.

The best thing I've ever done in life is sire two thoroughly impressive sons.
I say sire instead of father because it was more about a biological process than parenting skill.

It's supposed to rain tomorrow, but then be dry every day through the weekend, with any rainfall coming Friday night. This is big news and promises the longest rain free stretch in at least two months. The local weather guy said we've had so much rain this winter that we should enjoy this respite guilt free.

My take on last night's Iowa caucuses: It looks like a three man race on the Republican side, with one normal guy and two wackos. The sooner the candidates at the bottom leave the race the sooner their supporters will line up behind Rubio and the doofus duo will lose their plurality.
On the Democratic side, I could feel sorry for Hilary if I didn't find her views so unacceptable and the sound of her voice so grating.
She's got to be feeling a horrible sense of deja vu.

As I do my preps for Puerto Rico I'm reminded of some of the Spanish words I learned while in Costa Rica learning some new tricks.
I already knew how to make the tilde that goes over some N's, like the first one in maƱana. On a Mac you hold down the Option key while you type an n, creating the tilde, and then type the n like normal which places it below that tilde.
Today I learned how to make the upside down question mark, ¿ (Option, shift, question mark) and the upside down exclamation point, ¡ (Option, 1).
While learning that I stumbled across the way to make a dividing sign, ÷ (Option, ?)
You're welcome.
