"I have an existential map. It has 'You are here' written all over it."- Steven Wright

As I write this the major networks are just now making their projections about winners and losers in NH. Will the Republican field lose weight over the next 2 days?
And can we please start at the top?

I finished the coop and run this afternoon. I spread grass seed, so by the time it's occupied it won't be so muddy. We'll get 8 pullets, two each of four different breeds, that will go in the brooder in the tiny second bedroom. That's a fun stage. We'll get a young rooster about the time we move the chicks out to the coop, six weeks later. By late summer or early fall we should be getting about six eggs a day, sometimes seven. I'll put an "Eggs" sign out at the road and I'm pretty confident we'll have plenty of customers. Or we can take them to church.

We'll leave about 5 a.m. tomorrow for the drive up to Seattle, stopping for breakfast around Salem, 90 minutes north. We should be in Seattle around noon depending on the (horrible) traffic as we drive through city center. When we made this drive on 12/23 it rained so hard for most of the trip that we couldn't do the speed limit, so I was glad to see clear weather forecast for tomorrow.
We're looking forward to time with my folks, including lunch at Spiro's Pizza on Thursday. That's a great place, they know my folks, and always treat them like royalty.
Pam and I will stay in the guest room at Ida Culver House where the folks live. There's no wifi there, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to post next.

I met Scott, the pastor at Emmaus, for coffee this morning at a cool shop in Eugene. Good talk.

We have flowers coming up at the end of our driveway that look like crocus, or daffodils, or...  And the wild rhododendrons (thank you, spell check) have loads of buds. Spring is close! Spending a week in Puerto Rico and then 16 days in Africa will help it come sooner.
