"In the long run we are all dead." - John Maynard Keynes

I didn't get the truck started today. I installed the recharged battery and then tried the ether. It didn't work, which I take as a pretty solid indication that I don't have spark. It occurred to me last night that if the points sat in the open position they might be rusted. Everything else in Oregon is. So I'll take some emory paper and clean them up, but today's weather didn't allow for that. We'd have 15 minutes of sun, but then high winds and heavy rain.
We'll leave mid-afternoon tomorrow for Portland and it's supposed to rain through to Saturday, so things aren't looking good for getting the truck into Barnette before we go.

I got the rest of Fred's lower level painted with Kilz. Next step is rough electrical, and if there's time I may start on that tomorrow morning. I have a breaker panel to install in addition to the wiring.
Just having the walls all white makes the space look much better, even with studs exposed. And it's much brighter. I was concerned about having adequate lighting in there. Would one 4-light track bar be enough? I'm now fairly confident it will be.

That sound heard off in the distance early today may have been Donald Trump beginning to crash.
We can hope.
Note: I don't think this new order presents us with an improvement, but we have to start somewhere.

The battle going on between Apple and the FBI represents new realities. I can fully appreciate the position of both sides and really have to idea what the best outcome would be.

I'm told I will have internet access at the youth camp where I'll be staying in Puerto Rico. The cafeteria has wifi, so I should be able to post daily reports.
The schedule looks pretty full each day with both formal teaching sessions and time with smaller groups. Most of my meals except b'fast are with a host family so I may start to feel a little like a Republican presidential candidate. The people are the best part, but I also like my alone time, so this may be a tiring week.

I brought home a "Costa Rica" hat that I really like and was given a really cool soccer jersey from the CR national team that I'll wear again as soon as the weather gets back to short sleeve temps.
What should I bring back from PR? And then from Tanzania??
Maybe a hat from each place?
