"When you've heard one bagpipe tune, you've heard them both." - Jack Finney

It started raining in the middle of the night hard enough to wake us both up, and has done that off and on throughout the day. That means those rounds I cut yesterday are going to stay in the woods until Saturday at the earliest. We'll leave shortly after lunch tomorrow to meet the kids at Sunset Bay State Park south of Coos Bay and will get back Saturday afternoon.

Chickens HATE rain. I let them out of their pen early this afternoon when it was sunny, but five minutes later it was pouring. They ran back to the coop like death was descending from the heavens.

This will be the first time we've used the teardrop since we moved here last October so this morning I took it into the DMV to get plates and registration. Ouch! What the state loses by having no sales tax it tries to recover with vehicle fees. Just the plates were $100 and the tags another $83. The good news: the tags are good for two years and the plate is a one-time expense, but that's over twice what we paid for the same thing in AZ.
I do like the plates. They're like the OR plates from the late 70's.

As much as I disagree with the President and Hillary on their positions on almost all issues (and I disagree a lot), I agree with them about Donald Trump. His behavior and comments on issues make him obviously unqualified to be president of our country. Unless the Republican party leaders take action at the convention or sooner we're about to see a blowout come November. By then he will have buried himself under a pile of stupid.
His statements in the wake of the Orlando massacre are the latest, and the President's righteous anger and his comments at this morning's press conference were spot-on.

Saw this on one of the car sites I frequent and found it interesting. It shows the average upkeep and repair costs per 100,000 miles.
Yeah, you could buy a Kia for the costs of maintaining a BMW. And now you know one of the reasons GM dumped the Saturn line. And Mercury. And Pontiac.

We're looking forward to camping with Josh, Aubri and the kids, and Sunset Bay St. Pk. is one of our favorites. It's far enough south that people from the northern metro areas that the park and coastal areas aren't as crowded as they are at state parks north of us.
Plus, Nonnies Breakfast Barn is five miles away. Everything is homemade, including their BACON, which is The. Best. Bacon. In. The. World.

I won't be able to post while we're camping so don't expect to hear from me until Saturday. With pics!

Included in the Pontiac numbers is the Vibe, a very popular compact. The Vibe was built on the Toyota Matrix platform - with a Toyota engine and transmission. We've put 110,000 miles on our Vibe with nothing other than routine maintenance. If GM scored that high with the Vibe included, how bad must the other models have been?

And how bad is it that the way for GM to get a reliable car was to throw Pontiac badging on a Toyota?
