A pic of me in the shower.
I read one article about the design for these corners that said the cross brace should go about midway up the height of the vertical posts, but I sure can't figure out why that would be better. What I know about physics could be put on the head of a pin and leave plenty of room for those dancing angels, but the bigger the square means the bigger the triangles formed by the cable diagonal, and that should produce a stronger box.
Like I said, I'm mentally preparing myself to repair and/or rework.
The ground here is much better than what we had in AZ, but it's still very hard. And digging 13 post holes 2' deep was hard work.
Over the last week I've been cutting logs, hauling rounds up to the house by the wheelbarrow load, and building these fence corners. Every night I go to bed exhausted and sore thinking, "Tomorrow I'll look in the mirror and see an Arnold Schwarzenegger body." I get up the next morning to the same Pee Wee Herman body I had the night before, and just as sore.
What am I doing wrong?
Colin Kappernick says Black people here in the U.S. are oppressed. We have work to do, to be sure, correcting disparities between people of color and whites. But a Black guy pulling down that kind of money for playing a game is not the best critic of the system that made it possible. If he wants to see oppression, injustice, and inequality he should visit almost any country in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The extended forecast calls for light showers Wednesday morning, maybe a tenth of an inch. I hope we get it. That would be the first precip since late May and would wash the dust off of everything. The leaves of the vegetation along Baker are all brown, some from drying up and some from the layer of dust from our gravel road.
We were going through the checkout lane at Fred Meyer when the gal running the register asked me, "Do you want a bag?" I paused, Pam laughed, and the gal looked at me with a confused expression that said, "What did I just say??"
I responded, "You asked if I wanted a bag and I didn't say, 'No thanks, I already have one.'"
The guy checking in the next lane over did his best to suppress his chuckle, but it didn't work.
When we downgraded our DishTV package we lost BBCAmerica. So I can't watch the second half of the F1 season and we can't watch Broadchurch. Drat.
And because it's pledge week (again), our local PBS station isn't running a Masterpiece Mystery episode tonight. Instead we get (and won't watch), "I Miss Downton Abbey!"
Uhm...no I don't.
We're sitting at the Starbucks in Fred Meyer drinking our coffee (Pam has some foo-foo mango thing) and using their wifi. In a bit we'll go to church, then Carl's Jr. for supper. Our normal Sunday routine.
Old people lead boring lives.
