"All the world's a stage, and most of us are desperately unrehearsed." - Sean O'Casey

I'll start by telling you all about my drive from Phoenix back to Baker Rd.:
I drove for long stretches, stopped for gas five times, stopped to eat twice, covered 1,233 miles in 23 hours (including stops and naps), and was mostly bored out of my mind.

I listened to True Blue by Baldacci for about 8 hours of the drive. It was the abridged edition, and an hour into it I realized that I'd listened to the full version several years ago. But I'd forgotten the storyline (it's a forgettable novel) so plowed on through. Don't do that. Way too many threads didn't get tied up because it was abridged that did get resolved in the full version. I don't remember how, but they got wrapped up.

Q: What are the four most ignored words in the English language?*

This morning I went to work on the 10 logs that got left behind because they didn't make a full load. I thought there were eight but discovered two were buried underneath. I started at 8 a.m. and worked straight through to 1 p.m. Stopped only to refill the saw's gas tank and oil chamber.

By the time I was done I had a third stack of rounds ready for splitting. I'm guessing there's another 1-2 cords of wood here.
The only logs left to cut up are the school marm and the log underneath it, down by the coop. Those will be tricky and take several hours, but in another day or two I should be ready for splitting, something I hope to get done before the rains start.

I also hope to get the goat shelter built by then. So this afternoon I went into two and bought eight pier blocks and a few miscellaneous items I'll need. Maybe tomorrow afternoon, if we don't get the showers they've predicted, I'll set those pier blocks so I can start with the lumber on Tuesday.

When I got up this morning I spotted a pretty big buck down by the coop with a doe not far away. Love life here.

So now there's a problem. I'm pretty hungry, but I ate what Pam left me for tonight's dinner when I came in for lunch and was REALLY hungry. I could go out to the pizza place in Veneta, but I'm tired and don't feel like going back out. I could fix myself some bacon and eggs, but that's what I'm supposed to have for b'fast tomorrow and...I don't feel like fixing anything. My body hurts.

I think I'll have the rest of the casserole from lunch, which is supposed to be tomorrow night's dinner. There isn't enough of it to fill me up, but there are cookies.
