Better a hundred enemies outside the house than one inside. - Arabic Proverb
I did not work at my usual pace today; the ol' body didn't have much spunk today. After working on my stuff for Sunday I got the door and interior gate installed in the goat shed.
Pam doesn't like Casa de Cabras OR Chateau de Chevon. So we're trying out Chevonshire, but I'm not sure how to pronounce it. Brits have some strange pronunciations for place names, like Gloucester, which loses a whole syllable and comes out Glouster. So would it be Chevonsher? And can you mix French and English?
Sorry. Got off track.
I also made the watering system I think I'll use. I say think because I have no idea if it will work. I made something like a table attached to the wall with a hole cut in it big enough for a 5 gallon bucket. The bucket fits snuggly inside the hole and rests on a 2x4 brace that supports the weight. The question: how high should it be? Goats can't drink from a bucket 5' in the air, but I want it far enough off the ground to keep dust and dirt out as much as possible.
I made it all with screws so disassembling it will be easier if it's all wrong. I figure the goats will let me know.
Maybe it should just sit on the ground.
I also worked on firewood, stacking it in the area I've leveled. Load the wheelbarrow, push it up to the pile, stack it.
Repeat.
Over and over and over again. This is going to go on for a very long time. My two hours of work didn't make a dent in what's sitting out in front of MoHo.
Some have asked if a good citizen can not vote in a presidential election.
At some point (and I am pretty sure we've reached it) not voting seems like the only truly patriotic option.
Seriously, how stupid do you have to be to say soldiers suffering from PTSD are weak? And think you can win an election?!
So here it is 8:15 and I'm falling asleep. I need to make better progress on several fronts tomorrow, especially on my Sunday preps, and that requires an alert, reasonably nimble mind.
Coffee, cookies, BED.
