"What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly" - Morticia Addams

Let me see if I understand this....
First we get a guy on tape bragging about the way he gropes women he's just met and he says it was just locker room talk.
Then a whole group of women come forward saying he acted just like that toward them and he says they're lying.
What part of his story makes sense??

The winds forecasted for tonight have been reduced from 30 mph to 25 mph, but Saturday now has winds over 50 mph. That's a bigger concern because by then we will have rec'd about 3.5" of rain, making trees more susceptible to blowing over.

So far today (5:30 p.m.) we've had .9" of rain and the burn pile is still steaming. Looks neat and indicates just how much heat is still down inside that very large pile of ash.

I've pretty much wasted the entire day and feel very guilty about that. The rain dissuaded me from stacking firewood or doing anything else outside, and my brain just didn't feel like focusing on anything. I did do some research on travel to Brazil. Yes, it takes a visa, and unless you can go to their nearest embassy (San Francisco for me) you have to use the services of an approved third party agency to send in your application. Odd.

I'll make up for it tomorrow. I'm committed to at least trying to sort out the wiring problems with the truck's alternator, and if it's not pouring I'll put on my rain jacket with hood and stack wood.

I heard a term new to me this afternoon. Apparently when someone is deciding whether to run for office they typically hire a firm to do what's called vulnerability research. The idea is that their opponent will do opposition research and you want to know what they'll find before they find it so you can be prepared to respond.
The person who used this term is an RNC strategist and said Donald Trump didn't want to spend the money on vulnerability research and skipped that step.
In hindsight that may not have been the best decision. It might, for example, have turned up a recording made on a private bus or his reputation as a serial groper.

I approve of the Nobel committee's selection for the literature prize!
My favorite: You Gotta Serve Somebody
Thank you, Mr. Dylan, for providing the music for that sermon.
