Turns out this is photoshopped, but it's still funny.
It's rained all day, and as I type this it's POURING, one of those hard Oregon rains that requires turning up the volume on the TV because of the noise on MoHo's roof. But the next several days are supposed to be nice, so if the rain hasn't washed all the grass seed I just put down I may actually get some germination.
I'd washed my hands with antibacterial soap, so I hope that doesn't mess things up.
It strikes me as more than a little hypocritical for Hillary to rip on Trump for his undeniably inappropriate talk about women and then feature JayZ at one of her rallies. His stock in trade is the worst kind of misogyny, with lyrics referring to women with the crudest of terms, using the N-word, and the basest of cursing.
Why doesn't the press call her on that?
(Don't bother answering.)
In 1959 pickup trucks were entirely utilitarian, designed for people who needed them for work. That's why they came with almost no creature comforts. Mine has a dome light, but they didn't have it connected to a button in the door jambs so it came on with the doors open. Nope; you want the dome light on turn the switch.
Except mine doesn't work.
When I was prepping it for media blasting I had to strip everything off the various body parts, including the wire that ran from the switch to the dome light (which is actually above the rear window, not on the ceiling). When it came time to rewire things I tried for a couple of hours to get a replacement wire in place and eventually gave up. At the factory they ran the wire in the gap between the inner cab shell and the outer cab shell before they were welded together. Try as I might I could NOT get a wire fed from the dome light, through that gap, down the pillar, and over to the switch.
So I got a very thin strip of LED lights with an adhesive back and attached it to the underside of the dash. But I never got around to connecting it to the headlight switch, in part because that switch is a real headache to get in and out.
This afternoon I went to O'Reilly's and bought a small rocker switch that I'll mount under the dash so it can't be seen but will be easy to reach. I'll wire it in tomorrow afternoon and see if those LED lights look as cool as I think they will.
That's pretty much it here on Baker Rd. With rain all day I haven't been able to do anything outside except fetch more firewood and kindling for the next few days' heat. That and some good college football games has been the story of my Saturday.
Looking forward to church tomorrow.
