"From 30' away she looked like a lot of class. From 10' away she looked like something made up to be seen from 30' away." - Raymond Chandler

Dr. Rogers comes at noon tomorrow. That's the vet who will diagnose whatever it is that's afflicted our goats and then give them whatever is req'd to FIX IT. In what could become a scene in a horror movie he will either provide that diagnosis and cure or be locked in the barn until he does.
He better like alfalfa hay because that's all he'll get to eat out there.

I don't have words to describe the disgustingness of changing diarrhea diapers on a month-old goat. And no, it's nothing like changing a baby's diaper, 'cause they don't have thick fur. "Smooth as a baby's bottom" is one of those unrealized blessings that only occurs to you when you've dealt with a goat's very hairy bum.

I spent two hours in the dentist's chair this afternoon getting cavities filled in both the upper and lower canine teeth on the left side of my mouth. The upper cavity wasn't caused by decay, but by a failure of the tooth's structure. He cleaned out the holes in that tooth (yes, two of them) and filled them, but he says the tooth will continue to deteriorate and will eventually need to be removed. Then I'll look like I live in a White trash mobile home.

Pam did the grocery shopping this morning and I stayed home with the goats. I had a phone "meeting" with our finance guy back in AZ, so that plus feedings plus diaper changes kept me busy. I had the Senate hearings for Sen. Sessions on TV while I did my work.
What craziness.
For one segment they had eight Black men make statements. They alternated between one harshly critical of Sessions and urging his rejection and one giving testimony to having worked with him and vouching for his care and concern for the civil rights of minorities. It was like they were talking about two different people. One of his colleagues, Sen. Cory Booker, said Sessions would be a disaster for civil rights, and then an Attorney General from Alabama says Sessions was his mentor, gave him his first job, and showed up at his door at the birth of the guy's first child. "I know from decades of personal experience....."

We still have lots of snow on the ground. With overnight lows in the 20's and daytime highs only in the 30's it's going to be there for awhile.
