I'm not stubborn. My way is just better.

I'm in a better mood today. Mostly.

I got a lot done. I mucked out the goat barn, finished deer-proofing the berry vines, got the goats their weekly weighing and measuring, went for a good run, and did some work on the truck.
I've never driven it at night, so I went out after the 6 a.m. bottles and aimed the headlights as much as I could with the truck sitting in Barnette.

I located a place in Junction City that has the parts I need to get the parking brake connected. The original '59 rear end had a completely different cable connection back at the wheels than does the 80's era axle I had built for the truck. Unfortunately, the guy who built it didn't bother to include the parking brake connectors on the rear wheels. In a stick shift that means there's no Park position, and the only way to get out of the truck is to turn it off and leave it in gear. Hassle, when I should be able to put it in neutral and set the brake. I'll drive up Wednesday to get those parts.

I did some exploring into the wipers and discovered the motor is bad, not the linkage as I'd hoped. I'll order a new one. Then the only remaining issue is the heater motor that doesn't work. Here's hoping that's just a wiring problem.

All of this work because I've decided to sell the truck. I can't justify owning something worth that much money (I hope) when we live so close to the line. If I can get what I think is a fair price for it we can get some basic transportation that Pam can drive (she can't drive the truck) and have cash left over.

I wish I could enjoy it longer. My custom has been to restore, drive & enjoy, and then sell to move on to the next project. I haven't driven this one near long enough, but it's a thing, and as such mustn't be held on to tightly when more important priorities enter in. Like the budget.

Asante seems to have the scours back. He gained almost two pounds over the last week, a healthy amount, so I'm not terribly concerned. Itzhak gained just under FOUR pounds and it shows. He's getting bulky and weighs 27.4 lbs. compared to Asante's 19 lbs. They're only six days apart in age, have different parents, so differences are to be expected, but that's a big one.

I talked to Decker's Nursery today. Our fruit trees are in! Tomorrow I'll get the posts and netting so that when I plant them they won't be instant deer food. I have the holes dug so planting should go quickly. In two or three years we'll have apples, plums, peaches, and pears!
