"Facts to not cease to exist because they are ignored." - Aldous Huxley

Unfortunate

After b'fast the day here on Baker Rd. starts with animal husbandry. I give the goats their morning grain (a circus or wrestling match, depending on the day), fill the alfalfa feeder and the water bucket. Then make sure the chickens have feed and water.

This morning that was followed by another trip down the hill to Fern Ridge Middle School to meet a transport truck, this time driven by Jake from Lucky 13 Trucking. Unlike the guy yesterday, Jake knows his stuff and had the truck loaded in about 15 minutes. His next stop was in Grants Pass to pick up another pickup, and from there to L.A. to deliver mine. The whole thing went as smoothy as yesterday's attempt was a joke.

I did have mixed emotions about this sight.

From there we went to Springfield (Eugene and Springfield run together such that you can't tell when you've gone from one to the other) to pick up Pam's new Chromebook from Best Buy to replace her old one wth the dying monitor. Then to Hobby Lobby to get some paint for Sally, and home in time for lunch.

With Barnette now without the truck I backed Sally in. She sure looks small compared to the space the truck occupied.
The plan is to replace the front shocks tomorrow, the first significant step in her restoration. Monday UPS will deliver the new gas tank and a few small items for the interior. So we're off and running. Sally will be a hottie soon.

I feel bad for Itzhak. The banding I did almost three weeks ago is having the intended effect, his equipment is shriveling up, and in another week or so they'll fall off. He seems oblivious to this loss of his masculinity and his impending impotence even as it proceeds.
There's a sermon illustration in there, but in testimony to God's overriding sovereignty and goodness I've got nowhere to use it.

This warm sunny day is supposed to be followed by an entire week like this, with no rain until next Thursday. One day of sun and working with a shovel has me feeling SO much better. It's been a long winter and it takes a toll on my attitude. I know it's happening, making me grumpy and ill-tempered, but knowing it's going on doesn't make it any less so.
There's a sermon illustration in there, one I could actually use.
