"If you're naturally kind you attract a lot of people you don't like." - William Feather

Did you also read that reversing the front letters of each word? Be honest, now!

The inmates are in charge.

The Eugene city council voted Monday to be a "sanctuary city," but they didn't use the word sanctuary in the bill so they don't think the feds will have a problem with it. It just says they want to protect everyone and won't cooperate with federal authorities in apprehending illegal aliens. (Yes, I used that term on purpose.)

The State of Oregon did a survey. Amazingly, residents think cutting costs is a better way to balance the seriously under water budget than raising taxes.
Anybody else wonder how much money they spent on that survey?

Several leading Democrats, including the candidate for president, and many in the press either said explicitly (Hillary) or suggested that President Trump wasn't releasing his tax returns because he didn't pay any income taxes. Now that we know he paid $38 million in 2005 there's a strange silence from that corner of the room.
I'm not surprised, but I wonder if they realize why they have no credibility with most Americans.

I got an email today from Jeff. And I quote:
"You're all cleared to go to prison."
Yeah, my mother had higher hopes for my future.

I've been asked to fill in for our pastor at the state pen on the last Sunday of the month when UFC leads the chapel service. To do that I had to go through a background check, and Jeff's email was to say they've done that and I passed.

Should be an interesting experience. It's in Salem, an hour and a half north of here. We car-pool up in one of the church vans and other guys provide music and....I honestly don't know.
Brett said I should expect to get heckled "all in good fun" and that halfway through my message some guys will get up and walk out, but that's because it's their shower time slot.
"And don't wear anything blue, incl. blue jeans."
He didn't explain why, but you can be sure I will NOT wear anything visible or invisible that's any shade of blue. I'm shopping for pink pants and shirt now.

I got an email from Bring A Trailer with the text of my auction listing to proof. I found a couple of small things that should be changed and sent it back. So we should be close to going live.
It rained all day, a hard steady Oregon rain. I tried working outside, but even with my rain gear on it was just miserable. I got the front seat on Sally fixed (the seat back was tilted way too far back because of an adjustment bolt that was too short) and ordered a kit to convert the choke to a manual version. Other than that it was all computer work.
Boring.
