"I almost had a psychic girlfriend, but she left me before we met." - Stephen Wright

The amount of output the sinuses can produce despite all attempts to limit it rates as one of the great wonders of the human body.

I wrote the above last night and then slid into a cold-induced stupor. Even two cups of coffee couldn't bring my mind back to function. That didn't seem like enough content to post so I just closed my laptop and went to bed.

Today I have the symptoms - sinuses that weigh about 45 pounds and a cough that appears suddenly - but I no longer feel like death would be a relief. In fact, I did 4 miles today at a decent clip. I also did some work on the barn that I hope will help water drain around, not through. I'll find out tomorrow if my plan works when the next storm rolls through.

The 19th century British politician Lord Acton said, "Absolute power corrupts absolutely."
Substantial (if not absolute) power apparently turns men into sex obsessed boors.
This is just crazy. There's no reason not to believe the vast majority of these stories, but how can this many men be this stupid?

Remember that contest I entered? It's the one where I'm going to win a trip for two (I'll take Pam) to Kissimmee FL to attend the big Mecum car auction AND be given $20,000 to bid on a car. The money I don't spend I get to keep, AND they give me the money to pay the taxes on the winnings.
So I've been looking at the list of vehicles that will go across the block at the auction that are posted on the Mecum web site. A bunch of cars get added every few days as people consign their vehicles ahead of the event.

The wisest (if not the most fun) thing for us to do is to buy a car that ends up with a price well below market value and then sell it. We can make better use of the money than another car.
The other option is to get something to replace the Kia which now has 147,000 miles, ideally something with four wheel drive to help us on those few days each winter when we get snow on Baker Rd. (Last year we were snowed in for 5 days because while we only got about 4" it's uphill to get out of our driveway.)

I have some classic car sites I surf daily that show vehicles for sale around the country and/or for sale on the site. After awhile I get a feel for cars that are moving up in value, or down.
Prewar cars are losing value while pickups (pre 70's) and station wagons are climbing. Vettes and Porches draw crazy money, most BMW's do the same, but VW's have lost some of their allure.

Crazy: Pintos are getting the love. Yep, the lowly Pinto.
That's because most of us owned one, or drove one, or just remember them from back in the day when they were nearly ubiquitous.
So.....
There's this
1978, unusual 6 cyl. engine instead of the normal little 4-banger, 50,000 original miles, automatic (not my choice, but Pam would like that), and it's a woody.
