I'd forgotten how I feel after preaching. I'm am not in my happy place.
I must do better next week.
After church I went to lunch with Nathan and his two adult sons and then got a tour of the east end of the island. The architecture here is ... wonderful, fascinating, different.... If you get away from the McMansions each house is different from its neighbors in size and style. I prefer some more than others but they are all interesting.
Here are some photos of the interior of the church but they don't do it justice at all. That would require a real camera and a wide(r) angle lens to take in the size of the space. And for some reason one of the pics is blurry; I must have moved as the camera went off.
I took this from the back of the room while the worship leaders were going through the morning's songs. I wish I could have gotten more of the huge ceiling beams in the shoot.

This is the largest of the stained glass windows. The front of the room is to the right of this view. You can see that the pews are curved.
1862! All the cutting and milling done by hand.
Amazing.
This is from the front looking toward the rear. The windows are very detailed and each dedicated to an early member of the congregation. In the lower left of this pic and in the first one you can see the fairly massive curved railing at the front of the platform.
Maybe this helps you understand why this structure is a blessing and a problem. It rates as architectural art IMO, but it's also a space rather off-putting to young adults because of its weight. It's dark and heavy, the railing is a barrier between the preacher and the people, and the windows, while beautiful, feel imposing (as does the whole room).
I'm glad it's not my dilemma.
The got cable internet connected to the house I'm staying in so I could be online. It is SOOOO fast compared to the satellite internet we have at home. And because there's no data limit - at least not one that I could ever reach - I can stream!
Ah, Pandora. I've missed you.
I need to go to bed. I'd forgotten...
