"Warriors are not the ones who always win, but the ones who always fight." - Fernando Alonzo
It's the last weekend of the F1 season and they're in Abu Dhabi. It turns out oil money can build some pretty cool race track structures.
I hauled the engine and the other metal parts to the recycle business to discover that, contrary to what their web site says, they're closed. Grrrr. It may be next Saturday before I can make that trip again. It's a busy week.
I want the people taking my class to be able to write out a timeline of biblical history when we've completed the read-through-the-Bible plan. This last week they've all but finished Deuteronomy, which means there's quite a bit of content on a timeline.
Note: Five of the OT books are poetry and 17 are prophetic so they don't advance the timeline.
I'm going to try a game tomorrow to see how they do. Pam made me a bean bag that I'll toss to someone who should then give me the first item on the timeline (creation). I'll uncover the first entry on my master to see if they got it right and then they'll toss the bean bag to someone else who then has to name the next item on the line.
Then I'll ask them what the events on the line teach us about God. What can we tell about his nature based on the events from creation to the east side of the Jordan River?
I haven't yet decided if I'll have them turn to Deut. 23:12-14 in that discussion.
We watch Hinterland on PBS. Besides being it's set in Wales and we love the Welsh names. The pronunciation is often nothing like the spelling and they don't seem to need vowels very much.
I told Pam it almost makes me wish we could have another kid so we could give her a Welsh name.
Maybe we should just call the kid Grape Juice.
Somehow Pam and I got enlisted to sing in the 16-person vocal ensemble leading the music the Sunday before Christmas. Our church music guy is very good so this could be fun.
