"Enjoy money while you have it. Shrouds don't have pockets." - Vierginia Esberg
The sun here set at 4:37 p.m., about 10 minutes ago, so Chanukah has just begun. It's not a biblical holy day; it began after the rebellion of the Maccabees against the forces of Antiochus Epiphanes in 165 B.C. It's a cool story, if most likely fictitious (the part about the lamp oil, not the revolution which is well documented).
Depending on where you live you may see 8-branched candlesticks in windows, one of the ways Jews observe this festival.
OK, I realize it's a car guy thing, but here's a pic of the new engine under Sally's hood. Clean and factory Ford blue. I adjusted the carb this afternoon, leaning out the idle mixture some. I'll keep tweaking it as a drive her until I've got it just right. That's something computer chips do in newer cars but where's the fun in that??
I'll also adjust the idle speed, but one thing at a time.
We'll get below freezing every night this week, as low as 24 on Thursday. I have to remember to turn on the heat lamp in the pump house or those pipes will freeze. That happened a couple of winters ago; not fun.
The pump house is insulated but years of rodents' damage has made a mess of it. It's one of those projects I don't think about until it gets cold like this, usually raining, and not a task I feel like doing.

This morning at church I learned about three couples new to UFC who want to be in a small group. Uhm....
We need more small groups. That's gonna be a challenge.
The demand for more is a very good thing, though!
