"Be not simply good. Be good for something." - Henry David Thoreau

6:00 Sunday morning. I've had b'fast (eggs and pork sausage patties) and one cup of coffee (more to come). Time to walk Buddy, feed the rest of the animals, and go over my slides for class. I have too much content for the hour so I'll be racing to get through it all. If it looks like I'll come up seriously short on time I can take the second of two topics on my agenda, divide it in half, and finish it next week.
Class is followed by the worship service and then a "Meet the Pastors" lunch where people new to UFC get a free lunch and all the staff is there to interact with them. UFC does that about every three months.

The last few days we've had deer munching on my fruit trees. I don't know if I could legally solve that problem with my 9mm or if I could do that successfully before they got spooked and ran off. But I do like venison.

I started the paint process on Sally's rear end Friday. Step one: remove tail lights, bumper, license plate, reverse lights, and rear valance. That took a couple of hours because of rusted bolts. Yesterday I started sanding off paint. I got the valance down to bare metal but the piece that holds the tail lights (still on the car) is, like the trunk lid, covered in bondo that comes off very slowly. Yeah, at some point someone hit the back of the car and the repair involved a liberal application of bondo. I'm going to have to address that issue, but won't know how until I have it down to metal.

I used Google Forms to send a survey out to everyone who took the Continuing Ed class to get feedback on this first course offering. I've rec'd 28 responses and think that's probably as many as I'll get. The feedback has been positive except for two who expected something completely different. One wanted an informal time for interaction and getting to know other UFC people. (huh?) Another one didn't appreciate my humor. (hmmm). But the other 26 had good things to say and many especially liked the cookies.
Three of us have a meeting Wednesday morning to decide if/when/how Continuing Ed will resume in the fall. I've sent survey results to the others who will be at that meeting.

6 p.m.
I've had a Sunday afternoon preacher's nap (aka catatonic), taken Buddy for his evening (longer) walk, fed critters and had dinner: goat, spuds, and salad.
Yep, Donut for dinner.
Next up, two weeks from tomorrow: Goulash and, if there's a second....Huevos? Hashbrowns? We'll be surprised if Dolly has two so we haven't talked much about what we'd name the second.

I got good comments this morning about my sermon last Sunday. I work at mentally turning those comments upward sometimes pointed up as we talk.
It is nice to know it was effective.

Is I write this we're watching The Bourne Ultimatum on A&E.
OK, I'm watching while Pam pretty much ignores it and reads Facebook. This is not a chick flic. Or filled with comic relief. It's pretty much one continuous chase scene broken up by regular infusions of  fight scenes and dead bodies.
But it's OK. When I go to bed she'll change over to Say Yes to the Dress.

I like watching Barnwood Builders on DIY network. Exciting, I know.
