"When it's foggy in the pulpit it's cloudy in the pew." - Cavett Robert

4:00 p.m. and nothing from Dolly. In eight hours she'll be a full week overdue. I go down to check on her about every 90 minutes and she just looks at me with a "What??" look. "Why do you keep coming down here? Am I supposed to be doint something??"

I spent 2.5 hours this afternoon getting one rear quarter window installed. It is WAY out of adjustment - doesn't come close to going up into its seat and wouldn't come close to aligning with the front window is I were to try closing it. But that's a whole different process with separate You Tube videos.
Now I can remove the quarter window on the driver side, get access to the trim piece for removal, paint that area, install the new trim piece, and reinstall the window.
I'm pretty sure I'll start from square one and again try 36 ways that don't work before I stumble on the one that does. Oh well.

Lewis (Lew) is our minister of music. He's a gem - humble, gentle, eager to help anywhere he can, and the perfect balance when he leads worship. He introduces some - maybe most - of the songs we sing but you never get the sense that he's talking to hear himself speak. His manner when leading is unassuming, almost withdrawn. It's impossible not to like Lew.
Lew plays guitar when he leads - different guitars depending on the song - and sings with a voice that is easy and pleasant.
He has three or four teams of people who help him lead - both on instruments and vocally. One of those teams includes Lew's wife, Brianna. I especially like it when she's one of the leaders, as she was this morning. I love her voice.
When Brianna is the lead singer I sometimes used to think to myself, "I know where this song is headed and there's no way Brianna is going to reach that note." And every time she hit it without a stretch.
One day she was in the offices and I asked her what her vocal range is. "I don't know."
A week later she stuck her head in my office and said, "So we tested it at home and my range is three octaves." That is HUGE.
I don't know if Brianna knows how remarkable that is because she said that like it was just an interesting tidbit, no big deal. Well, a three octave range is a very big deal.
Brianna is as humble and unassuming as her husband. Not an ounce of pretension or pride. Just a sweet gal with an easy smile (and big dimples) who says she enjoys singing with her husband and obviously enjoys praising God in song.

I really like knowing people like Lew and Brianna. Among other things they help me see what I want to look like in service.

By the way, Brianna's mom sang lead in a Blackhearts cover band.
