"Now and then an innocent man is sent to the legislature." - Kin Hubbard

From my wife.

Do you bite your lip because you have a sore or do you have a sore because you bit your lip?
I don't know, but either way, Ouch!

I checked the oil level in the truck and it was down a quart. While I was under the hood I noticed the familiar odor of rodent urine.
Yep, the snorkel for the air cleaner had a fist-size ball of mouse nest. I figure that removing it boosted hp by 20 and mpg by 3.

My main project for the day was Sally. She had an antenna on the right fender that was wobbly and nonfunctional because the 53 year old radio doesn't work and isn't going to. So when I took the fender off I removed the antenna, leaving a quarter size hole. This morning I did my first ever welding job and tack welded a piece of metal on the back side of the fender. A thin of bondo fills in the gap so that it *should* be an invisible repair.
I'd include a picture of the piece welded in but it is such an ugly hack job that it's embarrassing. Because it's on the underside of the top of the fender no one will ever see it unless they take the fender off. I'll be long gone if/when that happens and won't know they're laughing at the bozo who made that mess.

Church attendance will be down tomorrow because of the holiday weekend. I wonder if it will also be down because of people staying home to watch the women's World Cup Soccer final.

The news is full of royal family pics because of Archie's christening. Frankly I find it disgusting - an entire family of gorgeous parents and adorable children who seem to be continuously cute.
How can that be real? CGI.

I'll be doing an overview of the book of Acts in my class tomorrow. They will have already read the first six chapters and will read up to chapter 22 by next Sunday, so we'll talk about Paul's conversion and three missionary journeys.
One of the questions we'll discuss: "What was Luke's selection principle?" That is, why did he choose these events to include in his narrative and leave out hundreds, thousands of people, encounters, and events? Identifying that selection principle helps us figure out what God wants us to learn from this book.
I'm looking forward to our discussion.
