It's Friday. The church offices are closed on Friday so it's my one free day. (I have a mentor meeting every Saturday morning.) I have great plans for the day, including getting Sally road ready, trimming hooves, making a repair in the barn, maybe using the string trimmer around the fruit trees, getting to the gym, and working on that church project.
Pick any one item off that list and know that I'll be happy if I get that much done. Things never go as smoothly as I expect or as quickly.
I really should prioritize those tasks but that would take the spontenaeity out of the day, and what fun would that be?? So now, at 7 a.m., I've had b'fast, fed the goats and walked Buddy, and am ready to dive in.
Portuguese, like English and probably all languages, has lots of synonyms for common words. We have boy, lad, punk.... In Portuguese a boy can be a menino or a garato, and perhaps others I haven't stumbled across yet. I'm making flash cards to learn vocab and trying to decide if I should put synonyms on the P side or focus on learning just one. The former will help when listening to a P speaker and the latter will make it easier for me to learn a basic list of words. Hmmm.
It's 8:30 and we've had the first setback of the day. The next task was mounting the two front bumper guards and that ain't gonna happen until the new brackets I just ordered arrive, sometime next week. The PO's (Previous Owner's) collision with the tree bent one of the brackets so badly that it won't fit,and I don't have the setup to straighten it (bench vise and torch). So I'll work on other items on Sally's to-do list so that when the brackets do arrive that will be all that's left to do.
I'm sorta bummed that I can't drive it to church Sunday and sorta relieved that the pressure to be done by then is off.
And if you're wondering why I can't drive it sans bumper guards - installing them means having the lower valance off, which means no turn signals and no protection for the lower part of the radiator. Plus, it looks all wrong.
I don't understand why God didn't make me rich. I have some really good ideas of what to do with a bunch of money - things that require a significant bundle.
It bothers me when the lack of money is all that prevents something really worthwhile from getting done.
ooops. I never hit "Publish" last night.
Probably means two in one day. This one now and a fresh one tonight?
