More irrelevant ramblings

Somewhere in every dept. of transportation is one individual who sits in a room with a set of road maps. Anytime roadwork is scheduled the project has to first go across this person's desk. They examine the project to see if lane closures are involved, and if so they examine the maps to see what alternate routes people will take to avoid those closures. Then they look at those roads to see if any work is anticipated on them. If roadworwork is on the horizon for these alternate routes they move that work up to coincide with the first job. If not, the first job is postponed until such time as both the original route and alternate routes can undergo lane-closing construction at the same time.

I'm making some window valances for a dietitian at the hospital, a lady Pam works with. Driving over there this morning I thought about what it would be like, being married to a dietitian. I don't think it would be so good. You'd get really healthy meals. Lots of fiber, no processed sugars, no pastries and lots of legumes (I'm still not sure what those are).
You'd live a really long time, but what's the point?

Here's a great idea! http://www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/41/snuznluz.shtml.The SnuzULuz alarm clock connects to the internet and is programmed to have access to your bank account. If you hit the snooze button money is taken out of your account and donated to a cause you detest. Hillary's campaign fund, PETA, ACLU. Every time you hit snooze the amount goes up. Sleep 30 minutes after the alarm went off and you've just financed an entire Greenpeace expedition.

But if you want to see something REALLY cool:

Probably not for the budget-conscious, but what a great idea!
Would it work on an xB?

I'm ready for the tax man. All we need is Pam's W-2 and then I can schedule the appointment to hear just how bad it's going to be. I think we've messed up. I think we should have been sending in quarterly payments. We haven't because our tax guy didn't tell me to, but I'm thinking I should have brought it up. I'm scared. If we have to go on the lam we may be calling you for a place to hide out.

Can't write more now. We're off to Josh & Aubri's for our monthly game night. We all gather there (Steve & Michelle come too) so the kids can go down when bedtime comes. Pam has fixed supper and then we'll play some board or card game that I'll lose. By the time we get home it will probably be late. But if the women's final (Australian Open) is on I'll stay up to watch. I'm pulling for Anna!
